Saltshakers newsletter

Issue #24

Shalom,

Well you can't accuse me of spamming you - this is the first newsletter for nearly 2 months! Talking of spam, please Mr Fake Drug Salesman, stop sending the 100+ emails every day touting your goods, our visitors are the wrong demographic for your wares!

Few things to mention ...

After a week's break, the Bible Study has now resumed. The latest, "The Praise of the Angels and the Homage of the Shepherds" is at http://www.hebrewroots.com/node/542

Issue #23

Shalom and Happy New Year,

Good news to report and .... variable news.

On the positive side I should be getting some practical help this year in running the website. The Tree of Life Messianic Fellowship, which I've been a part of since the meeting were held in my mum's lounge many many moons ago, will be helping me with dealing with the emails (which actually means that they will all be answered - which is good news!), prayer support and helping with the content side of the website. This whole kaboodle will be launched one Saturday in March, so if you're in the London area then ....

Issue #22

Shalom and Happy Chanukah,

The Life of Yeshua Bible Study continues with part 3 just added. Part 2 was a bit heavy and it's a shame that more folk haven't contributed to our forum, even if it is just to ask simple questions - of course it's never too late and you can start this study at any time and go at your own pace.

You can see the latest part - on the genealogies of Jesus - at www.hebrewroots.com

Shalom friend,

Issue #20

Shalom,

Yes I know you've just heard from me, so I'll keep it short and sweet.

I am delighted to announce that we've just launched our Life of Yeshua Bible Study at http://www.hebrewroots.com/node/468

Please visit and see how you get on. It is our intention to produce something educational and faith-building so, at this stage, any feedback is most welcome.

Issue #19

Shalom,

Just to draw a line under the whole deal, my office is now complete and I am eternally grateful to wifey, even though she has created a penalty system equating messiness with kitchen duties! Who said we lived in a perfect world, anyway?!

The Bible Study - Life of Yeshua. Thanks to an overwhelming response - too many for me to answer individually - with many menfolk appearing out of the woodwork, it looks like it's going to happen!

Issue #18

Shalom,

Two big announcements:

Firstly, regarding the proposed Weekly Bible Study on "The Life of Yeshua". I was interested to see what sort of response I would get from folk and had a figure in mind that would tell me that it was worth doing, bearing in mind the amount of work needed to run it. I have to say that I'm a little disappointed to have received just 50% of that figure, but more worryingly, over 90% of those people were female - where on earth are the men - we need more men, are you out there?

To wet your appetite, here's what's being proposed:

Issue #17

Shalom from Saltshakers,

The saga continues ... Wifey would like it known that all initiatives regarding the tidying of my office were down to her - even the commissioning of the whole project! My role is, was, and always will be a passive one, though I am already enjoying the fruits of her labour!

Last week I gave a talk on material going into my next book. As the people there recorded it and sent me the CD then, if you're interested, it's all up on the website now. It's all eye-opening stuff, if I say so myself.

Issue #16

Welcome,

One quick correction from the last newsletter - when I mentioned tidying my office I didn't mean I was going to actually do it myself, I just commissioned wifey (who has great practical gifts and skills) to do it. She has now completed 50% of the task and I am eternally grateful - instead of wading through piles of books I can now actually see them neatly arranged on shelves!

Issue #15

Shalom,

Two things of note this week (three if you include that I've decided to tidy up my office - sick of wading through piles of books - after being marched over to Ikea by wifey for a set of bookshelves).

Visit us at www.hebrewroots.com for an interesting chat we had about what happens when a Jew discovers Jesus and when a Gentile discovers the Jewish roots of their faith. All recorded with a group of friends and family in our dining room!
