Musings of a seasoned traveller on The Way

ADVENT

At this time in the traditional Christian calendar, I am delighted to put forward another excellent Sermon from Worthing Tabernacle (worthingtab.org.uk) for all readers who celebrate Christmas in the traditional way in UK and whose minds and hearts are open to the meaning of it all. This one is given by Pastor John Griffith, and I give thanks to God that we do have Ministers within our churches who are real Bible teachers who teach outside the ‘system‘, understanding the weaknesses of human nature as shown by those of old and which still sadly overwhelm much of society today. I will add a small point here, that learning and understanding are vital in this world today, but so is genuine humility. Pastor John, who baptised me in Believer’s Baptism some twelve years ago , is in fact Rt Rev Griffith, having studied and earned that title. However, he never refers to it, you will never see him wearing a ‘dog collar’ - he is simply one of us and much loved because of it. Since it is unlikely that he will read this, I don‘t think I am risking embarrassment, .. We have the one new man in Jesus Christ - there is no need to look further than to him.

The Sermon is headed ’Zechariah meets an angel’ and is based on Luke 1: 5 - 25 (NIV).

I will close - thank you to all who have taken the time and trouble to read my scribbling over the past couple of years, and to Steve for the opportunity to express a little of my own very personal Christian witness through this media Our own personal experience is all that we can express in true witness of Christ’s love on our journey. It was never intended to be easy, but I do not speak or write as a Jew, but as a Gentile who is proud to be a Christian . I would suggest a deeper look at Judges and Ruth would not go amiss !

In His Love,
Mustard seed.
