Back to the Life - Day 160
Yesterday I attended the funeral of a good friend (my second such outing in 3 months!) who died unnecessarily under the worst of circumstances. A fine, decent family man, he was placed under the most awful pressure by the corporation that he worked for, so much so that he ended up working 19 hour days, 7 days a week. He finally snapped and took his own life. Tragic beyond belief!
Please pray for his wife and twin children (both at University), his mother, sister and brother and please let us all learn two things from this episode. Firstly, we need to look out for each other and be not afraid to involve ourselves in each other's lives if something doesn't seem right. Secondly, there are only two things that are really important in our lives - our relationship with God and our own families. Let us not allow ourselves be a slave of anything else. Amen.
