Steve & Louie Go to Jerusalem - the Aftermath

For those of you who followed the story, there has been a fantastic testimony that has come out of our adventure in Jerusalem last May.

Louie was offered a job teaching in a small Christian-run school in East Jerusalem, as a result of a single meeting during our short visit and despite the fact that he's never been a teacher, in the traditional sense! So, last Monday he flew out to Jerusalem (and actually got through the customs without mishap!), for the start of the school year.

Now Louie was born with a dodgy heart and he should have never have survived his first year of life, if it weren't for the prayers of our Church at that time (St Andrews Church, East London pastored by Patrick Sookhdeo - now leader of the Barnabas Fund) and the skills of the heart surgeons. This week he was called on to do a small amount of manual labour (which he is not meant to do) and he felt - mistakenly - able to do it. But it made him feel very weak and lousy and, just starting out by himself in a new job in a new country, he felt very lonely and vulnerable. He tried to share his story with his fellow workers, but just got more and more upset ....

There he was, in a cafe (I think), his head in his hands, weeping. Then he lifted his head and - on the next table - was Patrick Sookhdeo - the pastor of the Church that prayed for him when he was a sick baby - who hadn't seen him for over 15 years! Patrick was able to tell everyone there what a miracle baby he was and what a fine young man he had evidently become.

Louie was vindicated and reassured that he is in the place where God wants him to be, and has not stopped praising the Lord since!

Don't we have a fantastic God?!

Every blessing to Louie, what a wonderful reassurance . May he go from strength to strength in Our Lord. No more questions, no more debates, no more doubt, just loving obedience. Wonderful.
