Back to the Life - Day 47
At last I'm now free to wrap my mind around the next book - How The Church Lost The Life ... and how it can find it again. This is the book I've always wanted to write, but I'm having trouble getting started. The general theme is this:
"To understand the Hebraic mindset of Jesus and the first Apostles and to live your Christian life accordingly"
In this book, one thing I want to address is a list of things that, I think, are wrong with the modern church e.g. why so many denominations? Then I'm going to try and systematise them and pass them through a "Hebraic" filter. That's the general idea, anyway ... how I'm going to do this is going to have to be the result of much prayer!
Feedback would be apprecaited here ... what are your bugbears about today's Church? What are the main problems, do you think? Could do with some help here ...

How the church has lost The Life ?
May you receive all the help you ask as you tackle this grievous question. It occurs to me, however, Steve, that it is not simply what is wrong with the church as a body today, but what is wrong with us, the people, we who are the church? Are we sheep - or are we goats? In my view, it is a need to look back to the Garden of Eden to learn the really valuable lesson of what went wrong in Adam and in Eve and has largely been going wrong ever since. Furthermore, 'Seek the Lord and Live, or he will sweep through the house of Joseph like a fire' (Am 5.6) and 'The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing' (Psalm 34.19). Life, with a capital 'L' and involving heart, mind and body, only begins when we realise the wisdom of God's Word which is the only way to Joy and Peace. God Bless !

What's wrong with the Church?
Nothing is wrong with the Church (the bride of Christ). We have to remember the most powerful part of our body...our MOUTHS. Remember that we are fighting a war against Satanic forces and just like Jesus went on his 40 day fast just before he started his ministry and was tempted by Satan. Remember Goliath came to the front everyday for 40 days before he was killed by David. Who was Goliath? He was an example of every demonic king. When we sin...sin opens our SOUL (mind, will, & emotions) up to demonic forces and people are bound by these forces. If you want to help the Church, repent for the Church, ask for help on her behalf, and FAST (on bread and water) and pray. That's what I'm doing. When we complain instead of doing something we just contribute to the lack of dominion of man. Pray for people to be healed, bless them, and then love them.

Nothing wrong with the Church ?
Oh, that it were true. It is full of sinners like you and me, Nancy - and we must respect each other and allow the Holy Spirit to work through God's people, using their gifts and experience to bring about His Will which is One Church under the Headship of Jesus Christ. Without the armour of God, which includes the belt of truth, we are helpless and cannot stand in the battle as all disciples are bidden to do and must do at this time, at the same time walking in the peace of God which passes all understanding.
God Bless and keep you

RE comment on the church
Hello Steve and all reading,
I am one day going to secure your first 2 volumes and read your synopsis. I am somewhat intrigued with the comments that are here based on each one's perception of the church. As the bride of Christ cited in the first comment, in the purest sense I would agree. In the historic sense which I perceive MustardSeed to be viewing it from and myself as well, there is much to be said. I would add indifference to its origins, clergy each have an agenda of their own, being called is seen equal to God, a congregation and a administrative denomination, a flexible definition of truth, being inclusive but at the same time excluding peoples based on doctrinal stance. Reading earlier from the IMJA site, for 18 centuries the church has grown itself with little to no Jewish influence for checks and balances but the religious Jews to have contributed to the ongoing separation and breakdown in dialogue. Just my plentiful thoughts brother.
