Tree of Life weekly Sermon - Paul Calvert

What a joy and what an encouragement !! May this young man and his team continue to be richly blessed in their work. He is so right to want to give music to the young people in a way that they can understand and appreciate, with lyrics that we can all support. Good old Shakespeare, whose literature I have always loved - but then I am from another age - knew the value of music, in his well known phrase : If music be the food of love - play on ! Music is a language that can be shared by all. I chuckled at his story about the rat, with great empathy. I have a terror of rats and mice, and tend to freeze on the spot. During WW2, one of the places where I stayed after the loss of my own home was with a friend and her family on the south coast. The city was going through heavy bombing, and her father insisted we go into the basement shelter the minute the siren sounded. One night as we settled down there, a mouse scuttled across the floor and that finished it for me - I felt I would rather take my chance at the top of the house than stay down there! Crazy how we can have these phobias - a tiny little mouse and I was terrified ! Every blessing to you, Paul, I share in all your prayers - and praise the Lord for your lovely sense of humour. What good things our Father God has provided for his children - all praise and Glory be to the King of Kings as His Kingdom slowly but surely comes in.
