Over the last eighteen months or so I have had the privilege of attending a Messianic fellowship. In many ways this was an answer to prayer as I was struggling to find a good church in my neck of the woods that was biblically based and open to the Holy Spirit ( not the kind of madness you see in a lot of places ) .
Discovering the Hebraic roots of the faith and being fortunate enough to hear good sound doctrine and teaching has really put flesh on the bones of scriptures that I never understood before .
Whilst watching the BBC4 series A History of Christianity ( a programme that so far has been not contentious or controversial ) it really hit home to me how warped and distorted the simplicity and the essence of our faith had become over time.
Man's ideas , Greek thinking , superstition and compromise with the pagan ideology have all been tipped into the melting pot to produce something far removed and alien from what we had in the beginning.
This would be more prevalant in the Catholic and Orthodox churches, but even in Evangelical churches today many find themselves embroiled in things such as The emergent Church, prosperity gospel, the wacky signs and wonders movement , purpose driven this purpose driven that, replacement theology, to name but a few.
I once heard someone say that IF we are going to suffer persecution for the gospel then let it be for the true one, which really echoed with me.
In a day when believers are becoming more marginalized and discriminated against even in our once fair country how important that we endevour to get back to The Way .
Blessings in our beloved Messiash Yeshua

i wish that this BBC program was available in Sweden. It sounds like it would be a good way to help others understand that they do not have to be afraid of the Hebrew roots movement.
There is no Messianic congregation and very few places where one can get good teaching. Many of us are Gentile believers and while we want to come back to The Way, we often bring with us a lot of baggage that is difficult for us to let go of.
I am wondering if we should start something new in Sweden but I just don't know. Here the Church of Sweden is the major Christian organization here and it in many ways is just heading farther and farther away from sound doctrine.
I work in the church and the day we decide to leave this syncretist system there will be no turning back. This journey along The Way has produced more questions and yet it has enriched my understanding of the Hebrew and Apostolic Scriptures. When I was a young child I rejected replacement theology but wondered if I was crazy since so many others believed the opposite.
Now I know that G-d has protected me. But what do do. I do not believe in being an isolated believer. We are called to be part of a community. What does such a community look like? How can we be true followers of Yeshua when the majority of that which is called Christian is a result of Hellenistic thinking, paganism, and anti-Jewishness combined with faith in Yeshua? hmmm it makes my head hurt.
As I try to assure my friends that I am not becoming legalistic (I do not believe that obeying the Torah will grant me eternal life, I still believe that G-d has a plan for how we are to live our lives (built upon the Torah with the rest of the Scriptures confirming that and not doing away with it) when we live in covenant relationship with Him.
thanks for your ministry and pray for Sweden. it's not easy here.

I too watched the BBC series History of Christianity and was again amazed at the extent of the grace of our Almighty God that He should have so much patient with fallible man.The Church as an entity has proven as fickle and faithless as Israel as an entity.
Surely it is in the faithful remnant - the 1 Kings 19:18 remnant of those who have neither bowed the knee to Baal nor kissed him - that the Lord finds His true church, whether Jew or Gentile.
I am also encouraged by the explanation by the Apostle Peter as to why God's grace allows for the failings of His fallen creation; 2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentence."
I am thankful to have been grafted into Israel but I realise that I have not been grafted into an institution nor a nation but a "Commonwealth", the body of believers that transcends Church or Nation and whose commonality is that we are redeemed through the precious blood of Yeshua Ha Messiach.

Welcome to the blogosphere
Hi Ingrafted,
I agree with the premise of your blog. Just this week, I was listening to Chuck Swindahl on Insight for Living, discuss the topics of post-modernism and biblical literacy or the lack thereof in the US evangelical church as a whole. What is most concerning to me, is the short-term commitment people will generally make to something, i.e. small group ministry, but forget that we are on a faith journey and seldom think of anything long-term. Not sure who is to get the credit for that, but glad to see a segment of believers returning to the roots of our faith. I think this site is balanced so everyone isn't encouraged to "be Jewish" "play Jewish" but recognize we do have a heritage in part from the Synagogue because our Savior was born to earthly Jewish Parents. Welcome and look forward to reading more.
I too have a blog,
