Back to The Way - Day 159
Yesterday I was privileged (particularly as I only got in at the last moment due to someone else dropping out) to attend the Men's conference for the Martyn Lloyd-Jones Trust in Ashford, UK. I am happy to report that there is good to come out of the USA, in the form of the excellent speakers, Paul Washer and Justin Peters - compensating for the prosperity preachers and "prophets" and "apostles" that have invaded our shores from our "cousins" over recent years and given the secular world "a right old laugh" with all their nonsense!
Justin gave the best presentation you will ever see on the dangers of the "Word of Faith" movement and I urge you to order his DVD (www.justinpeters.org). He will be the guest in February of Saffron Planet (www.saffronplanet.net), our sister ministry, so watch out for an eye-opening broadcast then. Paul Washer has got to be the voice of our generation, in terms of reminding Christians what it really is all about. You can hear his "10 indictments against the modern church" on Saffron Planet - look at the right hand panel on the SP home page.
The conference was a meeting mainly for those of the "reformed" tradition - a first for me. It's interesting how we all belong to some Christian tribe (whether we know it or not), and it's especially pleasing if you could visit another tribe and feel totally at home with your brothers and sisters there.
Christian unity - can't be a bad thing! Maybe it will catch on?

a 'Christian tribe'
I did not expect to want to comment again - but am delighted to read this. Believe it or not, it is, slowly but surely and quietly 'catching on' with those truly born again, not necessarily tied to the church as it has been known, for Christ comes with a sword to achieve the Will of God - and the Holy Spirit leads when we trust in Him. New wineskins demand new wine. Having listened to Paul Washer's brilliant sermon from your site, thank you, you were indeed fortunate to be present at the meeting with honest men.
