Issue #17

Shalom from Saltshakers,

The saga continues ... Wifey would like it known that all initiatives regarding the tidying of my office were down to her - even the commissioning of the whole project! My role is, was, and always will be a passive one, though I am already enjoying the fruits of her labour!

Last week I gave a talk on material going into my next book. As the people there recorded it and sent me the CD then, if you're interested, it's all up on the website now. It's all eye-opening stuff, if I say so myself.

Have posted the third installment of Julia Fisher's Olive Tree radio programme - another interview with the pastor of a fellowship in Netanya, Israel and a real insight into the daily life of believers in Israel.

Now last week I hinted at a new feature that I'm considering. As it's a biggie, I'm dithering, because it will require a lot of work on a regular basis and, once started, there would be no going back.

What it is, is a regular Bible Study on the Jewish Jesus. It will be released chronologically (i.e. starting at John 1 and the genealogies etc) on a weekly basis but will include some unique commentary freshly updated by our good friend Bob Doty, on the Jewish background to the Gospels. The idea would be for a group of folk learning and growing together and will include many opportunities for interactivity and feedback. This would be perfect for new believers, or those new to the whole idea of the Jewish background to the faith.

Please pray for this and, if this is something that you feel is really needed, please get back to me on steve@saltshakers.com To be honest, if there is not sufficient interest I will just put it on hold, I think.

Have a blessed week

Steve
