Back to The Way - Day 150
This week I spoke at an evening meeting at the Cornerstone bookshop in Clapham. I don't get out much, so when I do venture into the cold dark night, I try to make the most of it. As I'm struggling with writing the next book ("How the Church lost The Truth ..."), I thought it would be good to get some feedback with what I've already written. So that's what I spoke about ...
It was a small group but, in true Hebraic style, the talk developed into a discussion and we covered some heavy stuff. The book concerns - among other things - the Hebraic/Greek divide in Church history and the idea I put forwards is that Greek thinking puts a stress on doctrine and Hebraic thinking on conduct. The hallmark of most of Christian history is a complete neglect of conduct, in favour of doctrine - hence all the killing and persecution done in the name of "correct doctrine".
But it's one thing to get a move back to correct conduct, but of course correct doctrine is more important now that ever. It's getting the balance between the two that is - I believe - the real essence of the One New Man of Ephesians 2.
This is all a bit of a ramble. I'll put the audio of the talk up here on Sunday - would be good to get some feedback then.
Have a nice day.

Back to the Way
That is interesting Steve. I have mused about those parameters, the doctrine and the actions, for years as well. However, I decided it would be better to understand the scriptures we have first, then, the answer may just be obvious. It works to the degree that we understand the scriptures, at least for me. I discovered the meaning of Luke 13:21 when The Lord said, "It is like leaven which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal until the whole was leavened." The Woman is the Zadakim, the loaves are the three Ages of the world and the leven is the secrets of the Kingdom hidden in scriptures over the Ages in three books for the three Ages. The reason I am telling you this is because we need to read book one in order to understand the relationship between actions and doctrine that came about in book two, the Tanak. For example, the procedure of the Azazel goat, the Adonai goat and the cliff during the Atonement day ties the past to the future in the middle Age. Pushing the goat off the cliff into a crack in the earth is a rehersal of the event explained in Enoch where God put Azazel into a crack in the desert of Dudael until the end of this world and for all sin to be accounted to Azazel, while The Adonai goat was a forshadowing of the Lord, hence the name, Adonai goat. It helps alot to understand that all these Jewish traditions are not some fantasy from the imigination of man. They all have meaning and most are either reenactments of things past or foreshadowing of things to come. I know this is not helping with any question about commandments of do this and don't do that, but I think if we did what we could understand, we would be given more understanding and these gray areas would become very clear. It also appears to me there is only one kind of person who tries to avoid the law and if we love the Lord, we will keep His commandments to the degree that we love Him or we will impose on His grace until the Judgement Day.
