A tour of London's Jewish East End

For around eight years I conducted walking tours of the Spitalfields and Whitechapel area of London, the place of refuge for around 100,000 Jews over a century ago. The story is a fascinating one, so much so that when last Sunday was declared European Day of Jewish Culture, when the four remaining synagogues of East London were open to the public, I went off, initially by myself, armed with a tape recorder ...
